We were appointed to design a family garden with areas for play, relaxation and entertaining. The adjacent historic house has been carefully restored with a modern addition to harmonise the old and new architecture.

With stunning views to the lake and access to the beach Barfoot Design focussed on maintaining this with an infinity pool and sun terrace below the level of the house, leaving views uninterrupted from the house. The design focused on outdoor living an entertaining with multiple spaces including a large pool terrace with covered area for sofas and a bar and kitchen. 

A large, cantilevered decking area extends from the new addition of the house, covered by a fully automatic pergola. The steps from the decking area descend to the pool and terrace below. A Mediterranean inspired garden of grasses, agapanthus, and other drought tolerant plants with olives and cypress connects the decking and terraces. A large lawn sweeps down to the nearby beach, surrounded by naturalistic planting. 

Around the perimeter of the house, Barfoot Design introduced a smaller and intimate space with planting of grasses, perennials, and herbs.
