This enables him to offer a unique perspective and approach, showing a clear understanding of the practicalities that underlie good design and make a garden successful.
He has a great respect and appreciation for the natural landscape and spirit of place, and his love of drawing and painting gives him insight into colour and form in a garden setting. Stuart also has a keen interest in the natural world and conservation and enjoys regular adventure holidays; the most recent being a month long adventure safari in Botswana and Zambia to experience the Okavango Delta and Luangwa.
Stuart is retained as a Consultant at one of Italy’s most beautiful private gardens, Torrecchia Vecchia in the hills south of Rome. He has worked with the National Trust in Shropshire, and on gardens in Italy, Lebanon, Mallorca and in the South of France. He is fluent in Italian and speaks some French.
He was awarded a Distinction in the Postgraduate Diploma in Garden Design from the Inchbald School of Design, and is currently a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers.
